NICU Portraits
I am a registered nurse in a NICU here in Charlotte, North Carolina. Back in 2016, I created a program that offers free portrait sessions to families with babies in Neonatal Intensive Care Units in the Charlotte, North Carolina area.
Perhaps you were planning on a newborn photographer coming to your home before your baby decided to make their untimely appearance in this big world. Well now, it's still possible. I'm gifting you with a little normalcy in your unique and challenging situation. NICU families deserve a little piece of love while they go through their most difficult times and often lengthy stays in the NICU.
If you don't know anything about Pierce's Project, it is a wonderful organization started by the family of a preemie, Pierce, born at just 23 weeks! Pierce's Project graciously helped me get this project rolling and I’m forever grateful for their support.
In 2021, Pierce’s Project was acquired by Bee Mighty, providing even more support to families in Charlotte area NICUs. Bee Mighty funds NICU portraits and the program has expanded to serve families at Novant Health Hemby Children’s Hospital and Atrium Health Levine Children's Hospital.
